This shipment began with a simple idea: truffle doesn't need to be dramatic to be meaningful. We looked for products where truffle could sit quietly in the background, next to a good glass of wine, adding depth rather than demanding attention.

The result? A small collection designed for daily cooking, an interpretation of truffle for everyday use.

Pairing recommendation

A concentrated blend of sundried tomatoes and black truffle from the Greek island of Evoia. Rich, savoury and balanced, with truffle used as an accent.

Pairing recommendation
Spread a thin layer on a lightly toasted baguette slice and finish with a drop of extra virgin olive and a thyme leaf.
Pair it with Assyrtiko or a Sangioves.

ABOUT mercagreca

mercagreca was created out of a simple observation: many of the most distinctive Greek flavours rarely travel beyond their place of origin. From Thessaly to Crete and from Thrace to Greek islands, Greece is filled with innovative recipes and endless inspiration when it comes to taste.
 
 

And this is not because these products lack quality, but because they are often reduced to stereotypes or adapted to fit expectations. We wanted to approach Greek food differently, with patience, restraint and respect for how these products are actually used at home.
Our work focuses on shelf-stable pantry goods, chosen for their balance and everyday relevance rather than excess. Each shipment is curated around a single idea, allowing ingredients to be experienced in a quieter way.
 
mercagreca exists to introduce the Greek culinary experience outside of its home region; not as a firework filled spectacle but as part of everyday cooking.
What is mercagreca?

mercagreca is a food import company and procurement services provider based out of Helsinki, Finland. We focus on shelf-stable products, made by small Greek producers that use regional ingredients.

What is a shipment?

mercagreca operates under the principle of product shipments. At the beginning of each month we start working on ideas around the story that we want to tell. Once the story is written, we work with a range of suppliers and network professionals to identify the right suppliers and products for the offering. 

Each shipment consists of a tight range of products (3-5), usually from one or just a few select suppliers.
